Alice in Wonderland charm swap

I was so excited to find this wonderful Alice in Wonderland charm swap. I was the lucky last participant to get signed up. So, I played with a few ideas in my rambling mind and decided on my plan. I had these awesome Alice graphics from one of my fave Etsy suppliers. Because I do not have a Laser Printer (yet!!) I needed a way to print them so that they were stable. I found some printable shrink plastic and went to town. The first graphics I chose are great Alice images in brown jug/bottles. Yep, printed them, cut them out, punched the holes and shrunk them. They were darker than I would have liked but otherwise looked awesome. Well, not so much really. The little handles kept breaking off. The glaze I put on top made them blurry. They were a total bust!! Ugh!! Okay, try #2. Printed some different Alice graphics on the shrink plastic. These were lighter from the beginning. I used a Paper Shapers Oval punch for them. I added some beads and a wire wrapped loop to finished them off. These I am happy with. To package them up in a fun way I used mini playing cards and tiny blue bows. I cannot wait to see the 24 charms I will be getting back. I will definitely be making myself a unique piece of jewelery with these!! Anywho....just sharing!!

Grandmother's-Mother's Bracelet

I made this for an order. It is a Mother's/Grandmother's bracelet. It definitely gave me a chance to practice my wire wrapping skills (Which I needed). LOL The crystal beads are their birthstones and there are charms for the 2 grandkids and also 1 for the granddog!! :)

More new ART to share....

I have been having fun with a couple of past charms swaps, so I signed up for another one. This time I only had to make 8 charms. I have been wanting to play with Shrink Plastic again so that is what I chose as my medium.
I recently acquired some new, retired Stampin' Up sets. I thought this lovely lady would make a graceful charm and I believe she did. She is from the Days Gone By stamp set. I stamped her with Jet Black Stazon Ink on the front. On the back side I colored her in with my water color pencils. I used a corner rounder to soften the edges, punched a hole for the jump ring and let the shrinking process commence!! :::Smiles::: I'm still a kid at heart.....no matter how many times I use Shrink Plastic....it still amuses me greatly!! When the charms were cool I edged them with a black sharpie, added a jump ring, a beaded eye pin and another jump ring. I attached them to a Moo card made using DCWV Le Creme paper.

The other project I finished up today is for a mingle. We were given a stocking pattern and the challenge was to make it from a brown grocery bag. I actually chose brown mailing paper as I had several rolls in the studio. I cut out the brown stockings and used Spray Mount to attach them to the printed scrapbook papers. I cut them out again and used my Mat Pack from Stampin' Up and a needle tool to punch holes around the stockings. I stitched them up with embroidery floss, added some embellishments to the cuffs and added a little sparkle with my gel pens. The stockings are to be given empty for the recipients to use as gifties themselves.

That's what is new in my neck of the woods. Thanks for stopping by!!
Oh, I forgot....these guys were hanging out and posing while I was shooting my others pics today. I guess they wanted to be famous too!! LOL

Charm Swap returns

I was very honored to be asked to participate in a charm swap by a dear friend, Arlene. She is a design team member over at PID. I LOVE making and receiving charms....so of course I said yes!! :) Here are the 18 charms that I rec'd in the swap. Aren't they too amazing?? I plan to put them on a bracelet or necklace really soon. I promise to share when it is finished!! The Alice in Wonderland one is mine. I am in awe of the range of creativity and imagination that this swap brought to my mailbox. I published the pics as small, since there were 18 of them....just give them a click to see them in all their splendor.

New ART to share....finally....

....we had a big lightning strike that took our our cable, phone, internet....my sanity. LOL But at least it gave me more time to ART. :)

I am participating in an ART charm swap with a very talented group of gals, hosted by arlene. I needed to make 18 charms to share. I am so looking forward to the returns on this one. I'm hoping to make a charm bracelet or necklace for me to wear. Anywho, I went through several ideas, but returned to one of my fave mediums for charms, scrabble tiles. Hubs was good enough to vertically drill them for me. Yippee!! I picked Alice in Wonderland for my theme. They are coated with Diamond Glaze and edged with copper foil tape. I added (of course) some beaded dangles for some movement and sparkle. The cards I packaged them on were run through the cuttlebug. This was a fun swap!! Thanks Arlene.

This is the mailing envie for the charms

All packaged up....

I also made this card for a monthly lottery with the theme of seashells. I saw the idea that a friend had made and being a good pirate....stole it!! Apparently it is called pyramage. All I know is I enjoyed it and will be making more soon!! The image used in this card is taken at my fave beach spot. There are numerous "Totem Trees" there that are continually changing as people walk by. It is a very private beach and a very spiritual place for me. Also shown is the quote I love from e.e. cummings that I used on the inside along with the "sand" envie that I made. Anywho....happy to have my Interwebs back!! :)
