New ART wedding journals and more......

.....actually made some ART recently. We are very excited to have 2 weddings just announced in our family! I figured the brides to be, their mothers and grandmother should have their own wedding planning journals. So I blinged up some composition books for them.  Also, I just listed some new 3 tier dessert stands on Etsy for ARTful Salvage. They make great Wedding shower gifts or shower table servers! Please check them out and let me know what you think! :)

Playing with Paper.....Woot! Woot!

Playing with paper??  Who knew!!  I have been super busy making goodies for our new business:  ARTful Salvage. (I should be updating that blog today or tomorrow too!) I wanted to participate, as I can, in my 2 Yahoo ART groups. So without further ado....here are my latest creations.

I signed up for another round of corner bookmarks. They are fun and quick to make. These were created from a text print handmade envie and embellsiehd with Miss Mona, photo corners, postage stamps, dymo labels and sequins. You can find the directions here and view my other bookmarks in my previous post.

Each of my 2 groups have a monthly lottery with a chosen theme by the past month's winner. Lottery #1 was themed "Nature". I took a composition book and made a journal using some of my gorgeous stash of Mariposa paper. It is embellished with ric-rac, acrylic stamps and my always present glitter. :)

Journal #2 was for the theme "Patriotic". I used an amazing wallpaper border for collage pieces and pen stitched them. Again, ric-rac and glitter finish it off.

Both journals are tied up with ribbon clousres and have coordinating liner pages. Hope you enjoyed a peek at my latests ART. Now, I am back to making stained glass windows, etched mirrors and bowling gazing balls for ARTful Salvage. See 'ya!!

Waving hello....

....yes I am still alive! My computer...well that is another story. The little beastie has been very bad.....she is still sick and will probably be undergoing a complete reformat to try and resurrect her. But that is a story for another day!! :) The good thing about limited computer time is my house is clean and I have reorganized the studio and also have quite a few ART projects finished or nearly finished!! :::Smiles:::

I thought I would share with you what I have been up to. I have been making some stitcheries for Christmas which I will list soon in my Etsy shop. I have 2 more nearly finished that I will share soon. They are all 8 x 10 inch framed. Please click on the pics if you wish to see them larger! :)

Here are four more journals I have finished up for the journals of love project.

More Journals of Love.....

I am having a great time making these journals. Some will eventually go to my Etsy shop and some will go to my friend Shirley in California. You can read about Journals of Love. I have 5 more journals to share. These are made from Composition books.

Both of these were made from wallpaper sample books. The first one has "HOPE" done in scrabble letters, tied up with lavender stretch lace and embellished with purple satin ribbon and a paper yo-yo. The second features rope trim, with blue satin ribbon, a stamp "timeless" and embellished with a ship's wheel charm.

The next two were also done with wallpaper sample books. The first is a glam girl journal. It has bright red lipstick and sunglasses. The embellishments are a red plate with "sparkle" stamped on card stock and 3 stamped S.W.A.K. stamped cutouts. The second one has a Mama kitty doing the washing of her kittens. It has a metal plate "Aspire."

The final journal was made using scrapbook paper, scrabble tile stamps "BELIEVE" , pink ribbons and a fave stamp.

Journals of Love....

....my good friend Shirley has embarked on a project that is expanding at the speed of light!! :::smiles::: Her family, like so many, has been touched by cancer. She was inspired to make a journal for her family member. From there, the idea to make more journals to share was born. If you are interested in participating, you make contact her at srcattle@aol.com.

I made my journals from composition notebooks. I thought I would share the 4 that I made today. I made them with my newest paper conquests from DCWV, Stack 6 and the Green Stack. Be sure to click the pics to see them better!!

First up is a very bright and upbeat red and blues journal. It is tied up with a big red satin bow and the embellishment says: "May you never lose your sense of wonder" and it is highlighted with my Sakura Stardust pen.

The second journal is a more masculine journal that is embellished with a metal plate "Believe," held in place with screw head brads. The closure is made from a flattened men's cuff link and black elastic cord and another screw head brad.

The 3rd journal is a pink and brown combo, also embellished with a big satin bow, a pink flower and a pink slide mount that reads "Believe."

The final journal is actually my fave, with a beaver, snail and a tiny bird. It is embellished with black rick rack and says, "life's simple pleasures."

I covered the fronts and backs, then lined the inside covers to avoid all the printing inside. Now is the perfect time to stock up on these composition books with all the Back-to-school sales. If you want to play too, contact Shirley or leave a comment here and I'll get the info to you!! :)

Altered composition books

I am needing a journal for an upcoming swap. I grabbed a composition book at the store. While I was there I found mini composition books too, in a 3 pack. I played with them the other night. I also was to make a card with the theme "glitter". Well, my brilliant design turned out lovely, except that instead of a card it is an 8 x 10 frameable. :::Smiles::: Please click the pics if you wish to see the details!!
