Iris Fold Christmas Cards - The next batch...

Well, the Christmas Card Creation Train continues plugging along! :) Here are two ornies and two reindeer that I have completed. As you know....I simply adore Iris Folding. I have been looking for a "branch" to hang my ornies on and decided on this piece of scrapbook paper. The ornies are folded with metallic foil origami paper, my personal fave.

I really like this leaping reindeer pattern. I have a set of swirls stamps that I use practically everyday. Turns out they make excellent fancy antlers as well!! Who knew??

Iris Fold Christmas Trees - Variations on a theme....

I continue to work on my Christmas Cards.....of course Iris Folding is still my fave technique. Here are 4 Pine trees that used 4 coordinating green papers and similar, yet different layouts and patterns. I like how they turned out. :) I have 4 more apertures ready to go, just need to sit down and do the folding!! Just sharing.....

It's begining to look a lot like....

....Fall at my house. Well, at least in the ART studio. I needed to make 3 fallish cards and last night....that is what I did.

First up, is the card I made for my friend Diann. The theme was a "Fall" card.
I am enthralled now with pyramage as a technique. Diann really likes Vintage and Victorian...she is a very classic lady. I think she will enjoy this card. It features two little cuties out enjoying a fall day and is embellished with a fabric yo-yo.

The second card, also done in pyramage is for the theme "Harvest blessings". It does not have a destination yet, as the swap is not yet closed. I really liked this leaves graphic when I found it.

Both cards feature this verse: "FAITH isn't believing we know...It's KNOWING we BELIEVE". They also have this as their envie.

The final card was for the theme: Pumpkins. I made 2 iris fold pumpkins,
embellished by ribbon and "October".

It features this as it's coordinating envie.

So, even though it's 90 degrees+ outside....it's beginning to feel like fall around here. Anyone have a caramel apple?? Yumm....

New puppy for my Uncle and new ART from me

My Uncle sure got a surprise for Father's Day. His kids and grandkids bought him a new puppy. He has been without his beloved Sam for over a year now. Her name is Ruby and is she is a Chocolate Lab. I sure wish I was able to get some puppy hugs from her!! But, since she is back home in Illinois.......the best I could do was make her a welcome to the family card and a couple of toys!! Here is Ruby:

Here is my version of Ruby done in Iris Fold:

Here is her dog print envie:

Here are the chewy ropes I made her from some jungle print fleece fabric. One for now and one to grow into!! :::smiles::: The large one is 24" and the small one is 12"

The direction for the ropes can be found here: http://www.hgtv.com/crafting/fleece-rope-dog-toy/index.html

That's what I was working on yesterday. Enjoy!!

Some new ART

I have been busy cleaning and reorganizing the studio. Seems the kittens had fun while I was gone to Illinois for 9 days, rearranging. :) I have some swap commitments that I have been working on. Here are a few of the newest ART pieces I have made!!

This is a flag card that I did using Iris Folding, for the theme: Red, White, Blue.
The quote is by Abraham Lincoln: "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it."

Inside of card with Versamark stars.

Envie made from Wallpaper....see side bar for tutorial

This card I made just because I wanted to. It may head to my Etsy shop soon.
I used my Cuttlebug for the embossing.

This is an ATC for an opened theme swap.
This is an ATC for the theme: Ribbons & Lace

These are a pair of earrings that are definitely heading to Etsy this week.

Another Iris Fold Challenge - Think Spring

We have a monthly lottery challenge over at my ART group. The theme for March was "Think Spring" and anything goes. I seem to be in an Iris Fold mood lately!! I love this Calla Lily pattern. I modified it a bit (by tripling it) and placing it in the foreground of a lush spring garden scene. I really like how it turned out. The scan does not do it justice......the Lillies are made from a pearl shimmer vellum paper and they really do shimmer.

Another new Iris Fold for a challenge

I made this pink bunny iris fold mixed media collage today. It is for a challenge over at my friend Autumn's blog. She provided the bunny template and we are challenged to use it in an ART piece. This is my interpretation. The Collage, titled "HOP" is 8 x 10 and is listed in my Etsy shop.

I photographed the collage hanging from my Fringe Tree, which is beyond gorgeous right now. Here are a couple of shots of her too!! :::smiles:::

New Iris Fold Cards

I always make 2 one-of-a-kind Birthday cards for my Mom that she gives to my cousin's 2 kids for their April Birthdays. This year they are having Dora the Explorer and Diego for their party theme. Here are the 2 Iris Folded cards that I made for them. I think they turned out really cute. The third picture shows their envies peeking out. You can learn how to make your own envelopes by checking out my tutorial over on the side bar. :) Enjoy!!
