Easter Egg and Bunny Garland

So, I just rec'd back my part of an Easter Rabbit swap. We each made 6 bunnies that spelled out "EASTER" and they were swapped back out to us. I was debating on how to best make them into a banner/garland. I loved the bunnies, but they needed "something." So, I set them aside for awhile. I was searching through the studio and found my Easter Eggs from last year's banner swap. They didn't come in time to use for Easter then, but I figured they should see the light of day this year. So I grabbed 3 skeins of soft, floofy feathery yarn in lavender, pink and multi-pastels. I crocheted a simple rope with the three. I used mini clothes pins and strung the eggs AND the bunnies together to make one cool Easter Garland. Ta-Da......it's fun and lovely all at the same time!! :::smiles:::

Been hooking....

....okay now, raise your hands....whose first thought was NOT about crocheting?? Naughty. LOL

Since joining a local knit & crochet group I have been having fun starting AND finishing several projects. Right now I have a thing for bags.....hoping to branch out to a garment soon.

Anywho.....I made myself this purse in my 2 fave colors, pink & black. I am very happy with the results!!

My Ripple Purse comes in both kit & crochet and is from Coats & Clark. I also have another of this pattern nearly finished in 2 shades of blue that will be up for sale.....thought it would go nice with a pair of jeans.

I was insanely thrilled when I found the "perfect" lining fabric for me. It is pink, piratey and has glitter.....now what more could a girl ask for, seriously??

My second bag is green, both for the environment and literally. I Adore this new Sugar & Cream Stripes yarn and hope they keep making more colors.

The market bag pattern was from Joanns. Since Michaels is good enough to have a Sugar and Cream yarn sale going on right now, I plan to stock up this week (4 for $5).

I will probably make another market bag since it is good for the earth, quick and fun to make and really.....I just think it looks cool!! Enjoy!!

Cuffs, cuffs everywhere...

.....cuffs, cuffs in my hair......LOL

I have become hooked (hee hee hee - pun intended) on crocheting these cuff bracelets. I have been using Lion brand Incredible ribbon yarn. I LOVE working with this. I wanted quick and mindless projects for TV time with the guys. I can complete one is 2 hours or so. I have finished them off with fabric yo-yos, silk flowers, buttons and various lace trims. I have listed several of these in my Etsy shop. If you would like to customize one just give me a holler at ShellyRaeWood@aol.com or convo me on Etsy www.shellyraewood.etsy.com . More to come......

Don't forget to click on the pics to see them in detail!!

more new jewelry....

....as promised. Here are 2 new bead crochet pieces I have made in the past few days. The first is 6 strands of bead crochet in luscious blues and greens on gold wire. It's very summery, the colors of the grass and the sky. After the strands are crocheted, they are grouped into pairs and then braided. It is a nice feeling piece to wear. It will be heading to Etsy sometime soon.

This is my fun and flirty recycled necklace. The "beads" are actually metal charms that were salvaged from a yard sale purse (I have 100's left). I crocheted them with matching seed beads and antique brass wire. The piece measures over 5 feet in length. It can be worn wrapped 3-4 times around your neck or many times around the wrist as a bracelet. I'm really happy with it.

New jewelry

I've been working on some new jewelry pieces for my Spring and Summer wardrobe. Since I'm heading home to visit family in May, I decided I needed some new pieces to wear. So, I've purchased a few new clothing items and am trying to coordinate with them.

I love to bead crochet, especially with wire. I have 4-5 projects pre-strung so when I have free time I can just grab a crochet hook and go. :::Smiles::: I worked up a gorgeous piece last night which may end up in my Esty shop when it is finished. http://www.shellyraewood.etsy.com/

The piece I'm sharing this morning I made for me. It is a Daisy Chain variation that I created. It is strung on white Nymo thread using silver lined seed beads, Vitral faced round crystals and copper round crystals. You cannot imagine the sparkle of the faceted beads. :::Smiles:::

I'll share more pieces as I get them finished. We spent the weekend working out in they yard!! Ugh!! I keep telling my hubby that beads are way more fun!! LOL Enjoy!!

It's COLD in Georgia.....

......and I miss the warm weather. Now all my family and friends back home would be throttling me for saying that. Given the unbearable winter back in Illinois....no, it's not really COLD in Georgia. But for us Southerners......it is a bit chilly. I've actually turned on the heat and been wearing sweaters as of late. Yikes!! At least tomorrow it goes back into the 70's. Whew!! I have so many mosaic and painting projects to get finished up but it's been to cold for grouting. :::Sigh:::

So, what's a girl to do when she's stuck inside??? Crochet of course!! I've been making bags and purses for my shops. I have listed 2 yesterday and will list 2 more by tomorrow. They can be seen here http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5328014 and here http://www.shophandmade.com/store/shellyraewood/.

Actually the first one is not crocheted but bright and funky. It is made from animal print fleece, beaded and fringed.

The second one is perfect for wearing with denim and casual outfits. It is made from 2 acrylic yarns and one fluffy blue blend homespun. It also features a vintage silver button closure.
