El Dia de Los Muertas

So, here's my newest ART. I am in a mingle for The Day of the Dead. I LOVE this theme. So much fun!! I am to make one ATC and one other piece of ART. The latter is still drying and needing some assembly from Hubs in the shop. I can, however, share with you the four ATC's that I made. I simply adore the skeleton lady.

The background paper I used was a lime green cardstock. I used the swiss dots and flower fantasy cuttlebug embossing folders, along with cactus green and jet black stazon ink pads. The technique was shared by a dear friend Eileen and can be found here. It is a very fun technique....give it a try.

Anywho....just sharing.....

two more pieces off my list....

....I am liking checking off these ART commitments. It's very fulfilling somehow to take them off the white board!! LOL Here I am sharing a "Fall" themed tag and a "Cute Pumpkin Kid" ATC.

The ATC says: "I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than be crowded on a velvet cushion"!! I just love that saying!! The background is a painting technique using a credit card, acrylic paint and watercolor paper. You put a few blobs of paint on the edge of the CC and drag it across you paper. It's fun....like finger painting for adults. :)

The tag has one of my fave quotes by R.W. Emerson and some leaves I stamped and cut out. Simple, yet I think effective.

More Halloween ART....

....that I made just for FUN tonight!! My fave kind....Ars Gratia Artis.....Art for Art's sake.

I just LOVE the "Garden of Death" as a Halloween background. For some reason, it just cracks me up!! LOL And I can't seem to get enough of the witch's shoes either. Anywho....just sharing. That's 4 ATC's and 3 cards in technically one day, even though the clock now says it's Sunday!! SO, you have had all kinds of ART to view today. Later Taters.....off to sleep for a bit. :)

Challenge ART to share....

I visited some challenge blogs today and managed to finish up 3 pieces of ART. It was fun to have a challenge to play with.

First up is an ATC I made for Theme Thursday . This week's theme was Purple. I used a shimmery purple vellum print for the background, a packing tape transfer image, plus some baby rick-rack, a postage stamp and a dimension sticker, "DREAM."

The second challenge I took on today was over at Tuesday Created by Hand. Again I made an ATC. This week's theme was "Your fave background." I LOVE backgrounds. I chose today to highlight a painted one. Basically you take watercolor paper, 3-4 colors of paint (I use Folk Art Metallics) and an old credit card. You put some blobs of paint on the edge of the card and swipe and swirl it around on the paper and let dry. Easy Peasy. Then you can cut them up into ATC blanks or whatever. I again used baby rick-rack, a copper embellishment doo-dad, a dimensional sticker, "TRUST' and one of my fave lady images.

My final challenge completed today was for the ABC Challenge . Today's theme: The letter "Z", which stands for ZERO embellishments. No brads, no ribbon, nada. I used the Reverse Iris Folding technique to make this card. I just love Regular and Reverse Iris Folding!!
Anwho, that's what I've been working on.....

Some new ART....

I have some new ART to share that are for August swaps. :::smiles:::

First up is an ATC with the theme "lady". I used one of my fave images on vellum, backed with a vintage dictionary page.

Second swap item was a tag, themed "Anything goes." I used some paper from the new DCWV Paper stack, "The Green Stack" http://www.diecutswithaview.com/new.php?id=288 and a skeleton leaf and copper embellishments.

Finally, I was to make a row house. I cut the basic shapes with my Cricut using the Wild Card cartridge and embellished from there. I am happy with how it turned out. It is larger than it appears, coming in at around 5 x 10. Anywho....just sharing!! :)

Some new ART

I have been busy cleaning and reorganizing the studio. Seems the kittens had fun while I was gone to Illinois for 9 days, rearranging. :) I have some swap commitments that I have been working on. Here are a few of the newest ART pieces I have made!!

This is a flag card that I did using Iris Folding, for the theme: Red, White, Blue.
The quote is by Abraham Lincoln: "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it."

Inside of card with Versamark stars.

Envie made from Wallpaper....see side bar for tutorial

This card I made just because I wanted to. It may head to my Etsy shop soon.
I used my Cuttlebug for the embossing.

This is an ATC for an opened theme swap.
This is an ATC for the theme: Ribbons & Lace

These are a pair of earrings that are definitely heading to Etsy this week.
